I have an NOS compressor Part #17HC9644. Model #6550152.
My mechanic went to install this and he told me it is not for a 58. Would someone look up the part and model and let me know if it should fit / function in a 58 Fleetwood. Thanks

My parts book (dated 1971) shows 6550152 as fitting 58-61 All, however there is a note stating "On some 1958 to 1961 cars, the compressor has been replaced with 1959 compressor #5910346, 1961 compressor #5910425 or 6 cyl type replacement compressor 6550152. When ordering replacement parts, be sure to indentify the compressor so that the correct part will be ordered." So you see, its not as easy as one might expect! Good luck!

If you can not use that compressor, let me know if you would want to sell it.  I could use it for a spare unit for a 58 Brougham.
