A "Mood Car" is really a factory customized vehicle. Therefore Cadillacs made into wagons customized by non-factory means are somewhat related perhaps. At any rate, while still waiting for the"Mood Cars" to be found, above are 4 special Cadillac wagons as produced outside the factory photographed by me along the way of life for your viewing pleasure. The 40s wagon and the 1955 wagon were each photographed at the 2002 Cadillac Centennial Grand National in Dearborn, Michigan. The 80s wagon as stated above was photographed at the GM Cadillac Museum in Warren, Michigan. This museum existed before the creation of GM's Heritage Center which later combined all GM show cars no matter the GM brand under one roof. Charles D. Barnette

When this thread began, I cited a Collectible Automobile issue which not only included Cadillac Motorama "Mood Cars" but a Cadillac race car as well. While we are still waiting on Cadillac Motorama "Mood Cars" to be found, let's cover some more race cars and also some Cadillac pace cars. First is the (or a?) 73 Eldorado Pace Car which was photographed by me at the 2002 Cadillac Centennial Grand National. Next are photos I took of the 1993 Allante Pace Car at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show (the picture with its top on a stand behind it was taken in 1997 at the Cadillac Museum in Warren, Michigan-the other pictures were taken at the 1992 Detroit Auto Show). Next is the 2000 Cadillac Northstar LeMans Prototype (LMP) race car taken at the 2000 Detroit Auto Show. Then here is a picture of the LMP as it appeared at the 2001 Detroit Auto Show. Finally, last but not least is my picture of the colorful 2004 CTS Cadillac race car appearing at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show. Cadillac definitely has a race car history! Charles D. Barnette

I believe this is the wagon that was custom built for French movie star, Adolphe Menjou while he was in contract in Hollywood), by J.T. Cantrell. This car spent many years in the collection of railway buff Richard Kughn of Detroit [1996]; it was sold at auction in 2002 for a reported $140,000.

It has long been rumored that Joe Louis did own one of thes Custom Viewmaster wagons.  Is here any documentary evidence that THIS is, in fact, Joe's former car?

While still waiting for the Motorama "Mood Cars" to be found, I ran across my photos of the 1995 Allante Concept taken in 1997 at the GM Cadillac Museum, at that time located in Warren, Michigan. Carla will post them in the next post. The Allante of course was produced from 1987 to 1993 before the plug was pulled. I own a 1987 maroon Allante which was the first Allante sold in Texarkana. It was a fascinating joint venture between Cadillac and Pininfarina which sadly came to an end. It was a Cadillac that literally came from the skies. From Turin, Italy, to Detroit, Michigan, the airbridge flight of Allante bodies made up the largest assembly line in the world. Fifty-five car bodies were placed in a special 747 airplane, and the 56th car was placed at an angle in the tail for the 9 hour flight. The beautiful 1995 Allante concept represents what could have been had Allante continued! (I wonder what could have been if Oldsmobile and Pontiac had been allowed to continue?) The latest on the auto industry crisis-yesterday President Obama announced Chrysler would indeed head into bankruptcy! These are indeed unprecedented times! Charles D. Barnette

Yann, The information was what the owner of the car claimed at the Cadillac Centennial in 2002. That was nearly 7 years ago, maybe the owner of the car will now step forward with the documentation after reading your post. Charles
