The Cimarron was not exactly a successful car for Cadillac. However the Cadillac Cimarron venture did leave us with one beautiful 1985 show car similar to and serving as a declaration of the style of the "dual cowl" Phaeton of the 30s. While continuing to patiently wait for a Motorama "Mood Car" to be unearthed, Carla will post on Monday my two pictures taken of this car in 1992 at the old historic Clark Street plant in Detroit where the GM Cadillac Museum was housed at that time. Then she will post my other two pictures of the car taken of this car in 1997 when it was displayed at the Cadillac Museum in Warren, Michigan, because the Clark Street plant had been torn down in the interim. This one of a kind historical show car in my opinion makes for a very impressive museum masterpiece! While I have the opportunity, I want to publicly thank GM's Greg Wallace for all the decades of service he has given to preserving GM's history-many times he fought a one man battle for the cause. He is a true hero in my book! Charles D. Barnette

The true purpose of this thread is to renew and refresh our love for Cadillac. In this regard check out this unique prototype-the 1987 Seville STS which was 5 years ahead of its time.  The photographs were taken in 1992 and in 1997 at the respective GM Cadillac Museums at the time. This reddish vehicle complete with spoiler and all exterior surfaces being painted except for the lenses and headlamps makes quite an awesome, intriguing statement for Cadillac! Carla will post my three pictures of the exciting vehicle shortly. Charles D. Barnette

I just have to share with the club a special moment for my friend in Texarkana Mr. Stephen Yarberry. Mr. Yarberry is a local Elvis impersonator who had a dream for many years of acquiring a 1955 Cadillac Series 60 Special like the one Elvis gave his mother right down to the factory air-the Elvis Cadillac is probably the most famous car in the world next to the JFK 1961 Presidential Lincoln. Last month with the help of CLC member Jim Jordan, Stephen located and then purchased his prized "Dream-Boat" with the intention of restoring it to look like Elvis' 1955 now in the Graceland Car Museum in Memphis. Carla will post a picture of Stephen with his prize; you can see how proud he is-do you remember your Cadillac special purchase moments? Elvis performed in Texarkana early in his career at the Texarkana Municipal Auditorium (now being restored) as a part of the Louisiana Hayride Circuit. His first Cadillac-a pink and white 1954 Fleetwood-burned up between Hope, Arkansas, (30 miles away from Texarkana) and Texarkana when Elvis was on his way from a performance in Hope to Texarkana to spend the night.  There is a lady in my church that helped transport the bass fiddle of Elvis' to Elvis' motel room that night. She said Elvis was highly upset over the loss of his Cadillac apparently from brake lines that got too hot. Later Elvis in his 55 Cadillac was involved in an accident (Elvis was not driving) in 1955 near Texarkana where it had to be repaired. Elvis was enroute to Texarkana for a performance that time. The brother of the church lady mentioned above witnessed that accident. So having a 1955 Fleetwood like that of Elvis in Texarkana is appropriate I think! So Stephen-"Love her tender, love her sweet". Charles D. Barnette

I think Carla has become an integral part of CLC! Just some comments with regard to the pictures just posted on the 90s concept. This car was on display at the GM Cadillac Museum in Warren, Michigan, in 1997 when the photos were taken. It was sitting in front of the 1995 Allante Concept. The 90s concept looks plain in front, but it is the rear that is so different from any production Cadillac that grabs my attention. Maybe it should have gone into production! The only identification on the car other than the Cadillac crests are the plates which read front and rear as "V 2800". Charles D. Barnette

At my visits to the Cadillac Museums in 1992 and 1997, there were three Cadillacs that were displayed as the last of their types.  Carla will post my pictures of same. The first was the last produced 1976 Cadillac Eldorado (Bicentennial) convertible that was also suppose to be the last Cadillac convertible ever made-it wasn't as everyone knows, next is the last produced "First Generation" Seville-1979, and last is the last production Allante-1993 red with the Northstar engine. These vehicles are impressive! Charles D. Barnette

At the 2002 Centennial Cadillac Grand National in Dearborn, Michigan, Mr. Dave Towell of CLC and being from Akron, Ohio, displayed his gorgeous 1941 Cad. 75XX TNC. I snapped two pictures that Carla will post of this great 41 which as I describe it is a "Town Car Cabriolet" look with "suicide doors". It is an awesome vehicle. Next, while at the annual "Autumn Trails" event in 2006 held in Winnsboro, Texas, I snapped this photo of a 1941 Cadillac 4 door convertible owned by Lewis and Betty Cox of Alto, Texas-count the doors!
