I apologize for not putting my name on the last post. I hit the post button too fast, and am having difficulty getting into "Edit" mode. Joe Gibeault CLC #12138

Per Coopers Internet site, their new? address and phone is:

Cooper's Vintage Auto Parts
1543 Truman St,
San Fernando, CA 91340
(818) 361-7878

Could we ask that a CLC member who lives close by to volunteer to drop by Cooper's and give us some feedback on their status?

Any help would be appreciated.

I got my shipment from Cooper's yesterday, everything looked great, it was packed well, invoiced correctly and was what that they said would be.  I have a few items on backorder and Sarah said they will let me know when these items are in stock. I will post again if she follows through with the backordered parts. As of right now I am satisfied with the service and quality of parts from them. I am going to post the part numbers of all the new parts that you can get at your local parts store like gates belts and moog suspension parts in my restoration blog if anybody needs these particular numbers.

Hi Jim -

Do you have a link to your list?  This would be an incredible resource to have, but I cannot locate your restoration page.

Thanks,
T. Moore

I'll try to go by there today. I've been meaning to visit them anyway and check out the new location, they used to be about a mile away from me here in Burbank.

Does anyone have an update on Coopers? I'm also currently having a problem getting an order from them and they've stopped answering the phone. Does anyone know if they are still in business or should I order elsewhere?

Sorry for the delay, finally made it by there just now. They're still very much in business. Bob was out chasing parts, spoke with Sarah for a while and expressed the concerns of the CLC members.   I believe they were at the Burbank location for many years, possibly since they started business. It was (is still, apparently) a pretty tough move. If you had ever visited them in the past you would know that organization is not a strong suit. And they've got a lot of inventory to take care of.

They actually began the relocation in Jan - Feb and didn't convert to operating exclusively at the new location until May - Jun. It probably would have helped to maintain two locations a while longer, but that would have been a bit costly. They are just now getting their feet back under themselves and have the phone system working correctly (had some issues there) and computers back on-line. They have some much needed breathing room in this building, but it is filling up rapidly. I think that's why reaching Bob may be a little more difficult at the moment, he's got space to bring in more stock and he's out procuring it. But he is there every day.

In the near term, you may have to keep in close contact when working with them and be sure to keep track of your partial and back-ordered items. These are people that are knowledgeable and that you can trust, just need some patience and understanding during the transition. But they should be back up to speed soon.

I needed a couple more things and talked to Sarah yesterday. They seem to be easier to get on the phone in the afternoon, remember they are on california time PST. I have been dealing with Sarah for my stuff, I think if you work with only one of them for everything you need you might have better luck keeping things rolling.

Sarah from Coopers called me today and told me they have some of my backordered items in. Sounds like they got their stuff together now.

Another update, Coopers has a list of my backordered parts and keeps calling me to verify I still need them as they come in. I would have to say I am very pleased with the service now.
