How do I know if my '54 has Dyna-flow transmission?  I am shopping for a water pump, and I guess that makes a difference in which pump I need.

I have a 1954 Series 62 sedan and was curious about the same question, so earlier this year I did some research.  Cadillac put Buick Dynaflow transmissions in 28,000 of the 1953 Cadillacs after the Hydramatic transmission factory burned down.  For 1954, they were all Hydramatics.

To my knowledge I have to agree with that - it was only some of the 53 model year that were fitted with Dynaflows - all 54's were fitted with the lovely Hydramatic transmission.
