does anyone know where to buy the wheel cylinders and 3 hoses for 1941 cadillac 60 special except kanter? thanks john

In  the last 3 months or so, I bought wheel cylinder KITS from my local NAPA store. I was having rebuilding done on my 41-60S. They have the hoses as well.

If your wheel cylinders are rebuildable, go to a NAPA store, and get the kits. Should it happ[en that the cylinders have too much rust in them, and NAPA hasn't the whole cylinder, (they almost surely have them), then you can send the cylinders to White Post Restorations, in White Post, Virginia, and they will hone them out, and install a brass sleeve in them..

After you get the cylinders back in the car, I recommend using silicone brake fluid. And, as you surely have read about me crowing about the stainless brake lines from Inline Tube.

Just to add you cannot use dot5 unless the entire brake system is free of any old dot brake fluid, the use of dot 5 usually is done when all the brake components and lines are replaced new.

Those wheel cylinders are available from NAPA as are the rebuild kits and they're on e-Bay too, but you'll have to pay shipping and they're not exactly light.  I've quit rebuilding them and just get the new ones from NAPA or one of the other auto parts houses.  I also stay with regular DOT 3 or 4 fluid.  The hoses will be tougher to find locally and I've found it's just better to get those from an on-line source, just don't get the cheapies from south of the border....they're the wrong size.

I have bought both wheel cylinders and rebuild kits from NAPA. Right off the shelf, and DOT5 compatible rubber too.

Not wanting to hijack this thread, but to respond to one other point already raised - DOT5.  I've posted more extensively on this in the past, you may search for the whole story. But in a nutshell, should you decide to run DOT5 -as I have-, just know at the outset that this fluid isn't compatible with White Post Restoration's work. DOT3 or DOT4 they do support but emphatically not DOT5. You must choose either/or.
