Hi All:

Does anyone know where i can find the correct gold paint for a batwing from a 1957 Biarritz?  I saw somewhere where FEN is the only one who has the matching paint... is that true or does someone know of another option?

Thanks!

I've heard that FEN has the color matched and available --- but I've never
seen their product so I can't commment.

My '55 Eldo has the same color on it's batwing and I had a heck of a time
coming up with the correct shade (that's before FEN supposedly had the
color).

It's not a bright "jewelry type" gold but has a brown / tan undertone to it.

I don't have any magic answers for you.  The shop that painted mine had
the good fortune to have done several of these and had the original color
spectro matched.  They came up with their own formula and it looks great.

If you can find somebody in your area who has a "show car correct" one
perhaps they'll tell you who painted it or even offer to get a piece of theirs
spectro matched for you.  I know that's asking alot, but you always ask!

Dale Armstrong and his painter found a modern color to match and that is what I used on my Brougham.

Here is the info:

The Sherwin Williams # is 51525  Drama Gold  96 or so Chrysler accent color.  Worked well.

I did a match last year and had Dupont provide the details. I was happy with the result.

See attached.  The quantities are in grams (g).

That's the color I used to refinish the air cleaner lid on our 68 Calais.  It's been so long since I've seen that lid in it's original color, but it looks very close to OEM.  Now if I can only get the black to lay down properly on the base!
