I may have some letters I can look through!! I cant remember if I have an L, but good luck finding a good insert and the prices for a repro are rediculous!!

Cadillac_Mike

The prices on the reproductions are crazy. I would appreciate you looking for a L when you get a chance. I may have found a insert from one of my friends I have not seen it yet so I dont know the quality of it. But thanks

Your coupe looks to be in pretty good shape!! Where did you find that jewel? What's the history on it?

Cadillac_Mike

Thanks Buster Here is a little history  This was sitting in a garage in Vicksberg Michigan just south of kalamazoo. The Original owner worked for GM he bought this brand new drove it until 67  then he bought a 65 coupe deville convertible, he drove the 65 until 1989 when he bought his last cadillac. A 1989 fleetwood brougham. He drove the brougham until he passed away in 1995. Before he passed he signed the title over His wife and daughter held on to the car until I bought it. They never retitled the car so I am the second owner. It was always kept in the garage I have the original 1958 plate that was on the car when he drove it off the lot. I also have a few black n white pictures of the car from back in the 60s Im having trouble with my scanner I will have them on here soon

Hello Mike, I have the pink 58 coupe on here that I just got also that was my dads. I also have a complete 58 sedan parts car. I can't remember if all the letters are on the car or not and the car is still up in Iowa and I'm in Kansas City. I'm for sure going up there in the next month or so, so if your not in no rush I'll be able to check. Does yours have AC? What are you thinking for the master cylinder, staying all stock on the brake system? Take Care Frank

This is a shot of my 58 Coupe!! I have been working on this one for seven years now and all I lack is the interior and heat and air but she's still a fun ride on the weekends just as she is!!

She wasn't too bad, I did replace the floor pans the left rear was the worst, replaced that whole pan, and just a few smaller holes in the rest so I went ahead and replaced those! and welded in a couple of small spots on the outer body, She was running though and I drover her around a few months before I started the frame off restoration!

Buster Miller

Here she is shortly before I bought her and brought her to Georgia from Oklahoma!!

Nice job she looks wonderful my floors and truck are soild I need to rebuild my engine since the original owner passed in 1995 I really dont know whats wrong with it it does not turn over the daughter says dad always told her it was the trans and his wife said it wasnt that it was something else so i really dont know  I'm getting ready to take her out and just go over it Hopefully its not to bad I'm not really sure where to get the parts I'm going to need I going to try to use all the original parts I can. But I dont want any cheap china parts So if anyone has any suggestions on where I can get good quality parts I would appreciate it
Thanks M.Lowe

If the transmission is the problem, I bought a rebuild kit from fatsco transmission for around 350.00 and had a local guy do the overhaul for 500.00 so look them up if you need to build the tranny!!

Hi, I'm not sure yet on the brakes. The MC/master cylinder rod faces the ground and don't mount to the firewall and behind the MC is the duct work for your heating so to keep it original its up in the air for me.  :o
Buster Miller said his is mounted to the fire wall but he is going to put in a vintage air system.
Car looks great Buster.
