I am reworking the leaf springs on my cars. The new style pads only accommodate the top perch. The bottom mounting surface  has a 2"X2" plate bolted to the bottom of the spring that needs to seat in the bottom pad. Is a different pad available? Or should I dado out the new repro pads. Eaton Detroit only has the one style. Other suppliers list the 2 different part numbers but list 1 new number only. Original GM part #1444191 & #399301. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Harry,
Those are the pads I bought. But they do not seat on bottom properly. My rotted ones were shaped differently.

The springs I pulled were rebuilt. that is the difference and the new style pads had to be modified.
