Apologies for my ignorance here but where would the jack and tools usually be kept in a '41 Series 63 ?

My car has been the subject of a body off restoration by the now-deceased previous owner and he was very particular about getting things right so I don't think he would have completed the build and ignore these bits.

They may be missing and I know it's a long shot but I wondered if they could be located in a discrete place which I haven't yet found.

Too many cars - too little time !!

I believe they would have been discreetly place behind the spare tire. In some cars, there was a spot under the floor, but it was possible that this soon rusted out. To get the tools, Bruce Berghoff has them I believe. The jack and jack stand, start saving...
The jack was the most troublesome and dangerous jack ever invented, I believe. I can remember a morning I had a flat getting ready to go to work. I must have not been using a piece of wood to block the car's movement, as I would get it jacked up, and then it would go forward and drop down. Position it "the other way" and it would flop down that way. I finally got it so I could get the stand in place. Arrrrgggghhh!
