I wont call it a restoration but I am sending the car in for brakes and full inspection. The best I can say about the tires is that they still hold air, but I would not care to travel on them.

I am not doing a full restoration but maybe I will do a blog on the forum anyway as I am doing some mechanical work and cosmetic work.

As for the tires I need all 5 (I do not carry rotted tires in my trunk. If I need my spare I want it to be reliable!)

I need tire size and whitewall width. Any suggestions of which radial tires on the market  are the best at the most reasonable price?  What size, the modern sizes still confuse me. What is the correct white wall width and does anybody prefer a different wide wall width for this car, which is a dark gray

I like Diamondback, try them.  The tire size should be in your owner's manual or shop manual for the car.  You might try Cooker but have heard both good and bad on them.  I would want radials too.  However, you will need a real tall tire to make it look right.  A standard 235 r15/75 will not look right in a radial (too low of a profile).  Call the Diamondback and/or Cooker and see what radials they could offer that would work best for you.

Thanks Scott.

I have 16 inch Diamondback on my 1942  6719  but I am kind of hoping to find something in a major product line.  Nothing wrong with the Diamondbacks but i just made a big contribution to both the IRS for income tax, and to my state for
property taxes. Hoping to find something good without having to get a second mortgage or heaven forbid having to sell a toy or two.

I am bringing this one up again as the time is near that I will need the tires. Everything has taken longer than planned but that seems to be the way with all restorations.

My manual in in the shop with the car for references by my mechanic.

Need size and correct whitewall width also.

I have had the Coker B F Goodrich Silvertown Radials (235 75 15) for 7 trouble-free years.  They look great, stay white forever and I personally prefer seeing script on the blackwall part as opposed to Diamondback's smooth sidewall.  JMHO
