Help with an age old problem.... my 37 v8 has been rebuilt and leaks oil at the rear main ,Not trans fluid already checked. Has no rope seal as the oil slinger groove appears too big for the seals you get with gasket sets.Ive shortened the drain tube below the rear main cap and drilled a 3/16 hole thru the plug on the front side of the rear cap to help the oil return to the pan .used sealant on the sides of the rear cap where the cork seals should go and when i pulled the cap off there did not appear to be any gaps in the sealant before I removed it, The groove above the main cap and in the cap itself appears much too large for a rope seal to stay in.  Help please...Dan Burngasser CLC #23531
