Anyone care to share a secret? WHO has used WHAT to make the original style inspection marks that are under hood, behind areas that got marked with various numbers of letters as a car was sent down the line? Care to also share what and where you have found marks?
Paint code and last two of VIN- Series numbers, Letter "X" or "OK" -- I have seen a few on some of my cars. Wo0uld like to know WHERE I can get the CORRECT crayon to put them back on the cars.

I've seen the letter "X" applied with what looks to me like a "China Marker" also
called a grease pencil.  On my '55, it's marked with an "X" on the passenger side
heater/blower housing.  That was one final inspector mark.

You can buy them on EBay also at any good stationary supply store.
