Ed Strain in Pinellas Park, FL did my booster.  Curious how you're going to get the trans from Jersey to Florida...

I'm going to have it shipped on a palette I suppose.

There has to be someone in your area who can rebuild and install it.  I went through 3 rebuilds before I found a guy who really knew what he was doing.  I wouldn't pay for it until I drove the car.

So is Ed Strain the guy who got it right? I'd pay the shipping as long as it is.

Also, I need the trans in the car to get it running (currently it is not turning over). Unless there is some way to rig it so the starter can be hooked up before the trans is done.

Ed does brake boosters.

Walter, I keep reading your threads and reliving your transmission woes  :-[

How did you finally get it sorted out? Who did your rebuild right?

A shop in Scranton did it.  One of the guys is an old time rebuilder.  He really knew what he was doing.  Even found one part that was put in BACKWARDS!

"If you have an extra manual or know where I can download one that would be very helpful too."

Cadillac Shop Manuals are easy to come by on eBay Motors ---

The originals usually have better quality illustrations than the reprints although either will serve you well.  I personally much prefer the paper version to the CD.  Shop Manuals are worth their weight in gold in my opinion.
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness".  Dave Barry.   I walk that line.

It is IMPERTIVE to have a copy of the manual.  You will turn pages more than that ignition key!!!

And not for your own knowledge but if you ever do have to take it to a garage, they will need it too.

This info is hard to find on the Internet, maybe someone here just knows....

Does any other year Cadillac transmission fit a 1957 365 v8?

I know the '58s also had the 365 engine so I'm assuming they used the same transmission as well. Anyone knows for sure?

Nice find by the way!  :)

Not really.  Housing wise, yes, they're the ssme.  The valve body is a little different as the HP was a little higher in '58.  Biggest difference is the fluid cooler was relocated to the radiator in '58 so the plumbing from the water pump wouldn't directly hook up...
