I'm back having been warned off of a too expensive Eldorado this morning, I am now looking at a 2006, Black sedan with NorthStar, with 72,000 for $8,800 -- tax, title, tags, it's around 10K all in.  Looks clean, and being four years newer with the same mileage, seems be a better value.  Any advice or comments will be considered very seriously... (truly appreciate your input)... This car will be used as a daily driver, in hot Florida weather, with long periods of stop and go traffic light driving, approximately 25 miles a day.   Gratefully, James

Look for any oil seal leak coming the transaxle. Had two,the first at around 50,000 and second at 60,000. Traded for new 2013 XTS and even with the oil leak,I wish I had the DTS back. Bill

Other than the normal stuff you would want to check on any car I can't think of any specific problematic things on the DTS.

A very knowledgable Cadillac tech told me that the 06 and newer engines have all of the updates and they do not have problems like the earlier Northstars.

Check for leaks, prior collision damage and all the normal things.

Good luck.
