I have a 1957 series 62 and trying to reassemble the dash and heating ductwork.. does anyone have any pictures they can send me of the heater ductwork from the driver side all the way to the passenger?  Trying to fit the flex duct between the break pedal and then have the cardboard pieces that also attach to the flex duct.. but cant seem to fit the duct work as well as dont know how to bolt on the cardboard (it has hangers)

many thanks!

There are only 2 pieces of ducting that connect from the heater to the passenger side .The flexible duct fixes to the heater box and runs across the steering column then connects to the cardboard tube which fixes to the lower lip on the dash panel in the orientation in photo 2. This is then connected to the duct behind the passenger side kick panel (photo 3) by a rubber bellows. You may not have this as they tended to harden and fall apart due to heat and age, and unfortunately are not currently being reproduced. On my own car I had a perished bellows and managed to salvage it using duct tape ,but a short section of inner tube would probably work.

thanks Chris.. this was helpful.  do you happen to have any pictures that you can send of the flex duct installed?  The way I have installed it seems to be sticking out in the way of the gas pedal..
thank you!

This might help you:

I purchased these ducts but they are for the engine compartment side of the heating and air conditioning systems (as noted in the product description) which are accessed through the panels in the inner fender.  Two of the three fit well but I ended up using some 5" duct material from McVeys instead of the 5" duct supplied for the air duct cover to the heater blower motor.

Looking thru my nearly 3000 1957 Eldorado pictures this is unfortunately the best I have. Probably won't help you much.

Here is a pic where the duct passes over the steering column.

Dave, I don't think that brake pedal return spring is exactly factory.

I agree completely!  And since I am finally getting the brake system working right, that spring needs to go.  I understand it was a common modification.

It seems that '57 cars are affected by this problem of a brake pedal not returning completely. My '57 Brougham suffered from the same malady. I installed a spring at the frame under the car, so it does not offense the eyes!
