Anyone have HANDS-ON experiance with a V12 or 16 silencer?

I have a set of silencers that I believe are out of tolerance, causing some leak-down. The spring-loaded check valve "dashpot valve" has a very good clean seat and seals very well. Most of the silencers are able to hold pressure, but a few of them leak oil up past the plunger body. The engine has excellent oil pressure and runs like it should other than an occasional "click" from a slow reacting silencer.

Any ideas? If only I could order a new set from Cadillac--- OR is it time to machine a new set of dashpots? Anyone already make them?
