Thought the forum might enjoy this.

(A slight improvement over a green '57 Jag.  ;D)

Terrific picture capturing the mighty front end of the Cadillac  machine, the veritable totem to success,  well framed between two accomplished Americans.  Note the Packard in the background... does any one recall your parents' generation bemoaning the fact that Packard "...was committing corporate suicide with the introduction of a six cylinder model  luxury car... "  during the age of bigger, longer, and more displacement?

Man she's a beauty...... and Kim Novak is too :D

Bell, Book, & Candle is a lot more fun, and Miss Novak is still as pretty. Instead of making Jimmy Stewart dizzy, she drives him crazy.
Like her, we have a black cat named Oscar. He can't cast spells, but he can tell time. Comes into my computer room every day at 9:30 and starts reminding me of "snack time." If I'm late (10:00 AM), his sister Ginger shows up to gang up on me.

Can you remember the cat's name? It starts with "P".

So it's a little off topic, but the car only needs vacuuming and the windows and tires done before starting out for Fall Festival tomorrow.

Pardon my ignorance but who is the gent in the photo?  I do not recognize him.

Hi Dave,

I embarrassingly admit to taking poetic license with my comment about two accomplished Americans in the picture featuring the '58 Cadillac Limousine.  I made that assumption regarding the gentleman predicated on the picture and the relatively awkward positions of the two human subjects... My assumption based on the Ms. Kim Novak making the awkward reach for someone whom she clearly knew, and now just a "nobody"--- but again, I am entirely clueless.    Ignominiously yours, James

The caption mislabeled this Cadillac as a 1962. It's a '61.

I didn't read the caption that way...

"Driving happy: Actress Angie Dickinson bought a Cadillac in 1962..."

I read that she bought it in 1962.

Ciao,

If she bought the car shown in 1962, it would have to been a leftover 1961 (highly doubtful since 1962 models were out since the fall of 1961), or Ms Dickinson bought her car used, which I also think is unlikely.

Without beating a dead horse, how do either of your statements show that caption to be wrong,
"Driving happy: Actress Angie Dickinson bought a Cadillac in 1962..."
she looks happy; it is Angie dickinson; and she is driving a Cadillac she bought in 62.

Three things jump out as possibly being incorrect, though, she might not be actually driving and it might not be 1962 and she might not have bought that car in 1962. Those are suppositions on my part, not what is stated in the caption.

she was about 31 years old, depending when the pic was snapped. She already had Rio bravo and oceans 11 finished.
her legs were insured for a million dollars and she was a knockout, regardless of when she bought that cadillac.....lolol

I agree with kkkaiser.  IMHO Kim Novak looks better with that (black?) dress on than the majority of women today who walk around "dressed down" to detract from their natural charms.  And, oh those legs.

To get out of "ancient" history, I suggested that we try to get the "Jim Beam" girl at the 2019 Grand National in Louisville. *

When Lars opened the e-mail I sent with my comment, he was watching TV and "there she was." Talk about an omen...

*Bill and Beth Reedy have mentioned in our planning meetings that in that area of the country, that they do think about whiskey now and then...
