where are the 6 freeze plugs on my 39 lasalle 322cuin series 50 eng

C Gorgas

I am not familiar with the 322 but on the 346 which is probably the same block look on each side of the engine just  below the heads. There should be 3 circles about the size of a silver dollar. Not fun to try and replace if the engine is in the car. Chet25441

I've done them in the car, and it's not to bad. Have to support the engine off the motor mounts to get at the ones behind there, but it's not as tough as it looks if you have some patience, which anybody with a Flathead usually has quite a lot of it. Once you get them out, Clean up the block surfaces and run a thin bead of "The Right Stuff" by Permatex before you tap them home with the correct sized socket/ large punch. No need to wail on them, just enough to "Dimple" the center causing the convex plug to seat tight against the hole. Wipe the remaining bead around with your finger creating a nice seal and call it a day.....

Just for the sake of correctness, there are 8 core plugs on these engines. Two under the inlet manifold which get sadly neglected.
