Want to buy the brass ferrule that fits between the fuel tank and fuel line on a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville.

I am willing to get some of the these made.

There are 3 different versions of this part.

48-49 used one.
50-58 used another
57-58 used a smaller one for the fuel return line A/C cars.

These would be custom made out of brass

Is there any interest?

Dave, the '58 used a longer than standard male end flare nut.   Those are impossible to find new.   I had to cut the new "replacement" line and use the old end fitting to get it leak tight with the '58 spacer.   {Mine had a new SS tank, so it could be different, but the fitting/stub was old.   PO unsafely used to attach a rubber fuel hose.}
So if you're out shopping around for these, it might make sense to make a longer version to fit the new line end fittings - also.   I turned one out of nylon for temporary mock up while I sourced ferrule.   So it's not out of the question, with a lathe to make from brass or local machine shop.   I guess the replacement tank makers could fix this once and for all, but the purists might be upset.   I think I covered this over on '50 owners a few yrs ago.

Jim,

I am going by the Master Parts List for the information, 1960 book.
As I recall, my '58 did use the one shown in the MPL, but only one, not the A/C one as my car does not have the return line.  That is one of the differences between standard cars and the Brougham.  The in tank, electric fuel pump did not require the normal return line.

So from the MPL, here are the numbers:
1455530  48-49
1457033  50-58
1468132  57-58  A/C return line.

I have access to the actual part prints and have seen them and those are what I will have the new ones made to.

I received a quote back and they will be $45 ea.

Machine shop time has always been a lot and this is no  exception.

Thanks Jeff for the photos.  That would be P/N 1457033 and the OD is undersize and the ID looks to be undersize.  The mating surface was changed in 1957 to a radius.

At least with the parts I am offering here, they will be correct without doubt.

Please reply here or via private message for interest/commitment as I will have to get at around 20 pieces committed to before placing the larger order.

Thanks

David
