I believe the hood ornament is available new from American Arrow and it is probably worth the price once you try to re-chrome an original. Getting the pins out is a major undertaking and more than likely you'll have to make new aluminum fins. I think the new cost is in the $750 range. I don't have a spare headlight lens but will keep your name on file if I do locate one.

I bought one from AA and it was absolutely beautiful, but because of the shrinkage in the casting it would not mount correctly.  Had to send it back:-( I didn't want to mess with the body to get it the fit correctly and still support the hood. Just an FYI.

I'm pretty familiar with the shrinkage and just imagined the hood ornament producers would have addressed the problem. Thanks for the heads up. I will now approach the damn pins in the bottom of the ornament and see what I can do to get them out. It is near impossible to figure out if they go
straight in or are angled!

Well that helps. I talked to a man who has a chrome plating shop and he says he pulls them out, using an 080 screw! I'll probably try to build a jig that holds the ornament and see what I can do.
