Hello,

My godfather recently bought a 1937 Cadillac LaSalle 50 Series 4 Door, some of the wiring is disconnected considering one of the previous owners re-wired it, and there's no telling who re-wired it.

Does anyone have some type of wiring diagram? We were unable to find any information in the shop manual. He saw that the wiring was colored in the shop manual but the re-wiring is all the same color with different numbers on each wire. He is unsure what switches need to be activated for power to the taillights, etc.
He is concerned that the wiring is 6volt positive negative and he has never worked with this voltage before, he is used to 12 volt wiring, the only difference hes been told is the positive is grounded to the frame so the negative wire becomes the positive. Any information anyone has on the wiring of this car would be extremely appreciated.

Congratulations to your Godfather on his acquisition. The wiring harness looks like one made by Y & Z. While the wire covering is all the same color there are different color
"tracers" which match to the original wiring diagram. Y & Z should be able to supply you with an instruction sheet with the numbers rather than the colors.

Have posted here a few times that there is a company in Sebastian, FL  that makes color laminated wiring diagrams for most old cars --- easy to find on eBay.  Bought one for the '42 Cadillac I briefly owned.

There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness".  Dave Barry.   I walk that line.

Very good suggestion, I would have never thought to look on eBay for such a diagram. I'll buy one.
