for some added fun on the thread here, i took a couple quick pictures of pics out of an old family photo shoe-box.

i was too young to know details on the gold Cadillac ('70?) other than likely was a car my Aunt drove while she was living at my Grandfather's house.

the blue/white 1973 Cadillac SDV is circa 1976/77 ? after a snowstorm parked in my Mother's carport in South burbs of IL. although i was only around 12/13yo, i did have all the equipment from Sears (wrenches, socket set, timing light) and used to maintain the car (tune-ups, oil changes) and constant detailing of the white leather interior along with regular waxing and occasional Blue Coral treatments for the paint. I actually started the detailing work on family cars at age of 7.

The gold Cadillac is a 1969 Fleetwood Sixty Special or Fleetwood Brougham. The wreath and crest on the front of the hood rule out any DeVille or Calais models.  The gold color is "Shalimar Gold", one of the most popular colors in 1969. Your aunt had excellent taste in cars.

Good morning Charles,  IDH all the details, could have possibly been my Great Aunt actually had that one. but yes, I'd love to have that car now. I also recall when very very young, my Mom dated a Fireman who drove a white Cadillac coupe. I think may have been a '65/'66 (i remember the very straight, rectangle/box shape) Calais. He used to put me on his lap to help him steer and operate the turn signal lever. when not 'driving' i would sit up high on the center armrests of that Cadillac and several more DeVilles & Eldos to come over the years in the family.

thanks much for checking in with this great info on the Cadillac :)    Mark~

A Caddy in my neighborhood. It's somebody's pride.
The other Caddy on my walk.

Is this a Cimarron?
I think of a T. rex seeing a chicken.
The T. rex would say to the chicken, "Yes we are related but what happened?"
