hi there to all! I am looking for a carburetor my 1937 cadillac 70 series.with the 346.  I have two different stile carbs and either of them don't  work. apparently the ones i bought are for "parts only" so if any one could point me in the right direction or if there is a different more current  carburetor  that i could swap out. any info would be highly appreciated.

thanks Joe!

Joe, The car came with a Stromberg AA25 with an electric choke. Those carbs are very rare and super expensive if you find one. The later AAV 26 carbs should work. Ones with the vacuum advance connection can be blocked off if your car doesn't have the later distributor. There are Carters that will work but I'm not familiar with which ones.      Harry

I'm not a pre-war-ee.  Your best shot, I'd be talking to the "usual" carb shops and see if any can repair one or both of those cores.   These couple year only parts are tuff-ees.   If you can find the specs you can probably match up something to fit, and then adapt the linkage, but my guess based on that's what hot rodders did.   Maybe other '37 owners may have something to offer.
Carter made a similar but doesn't appear to be used by Cadillac.   Search for model info.
Going to take considerable effort on your part.

thank you Harry! I truly appreciate it! low and behold i started to talk to a coupe of Buddy's that are in my area and i got a hold of a factory Stromberg  AA-25.  ;D  as of right now i wanted to see how bad of shape the carb was.my buddy said that it should just need a gasket rebuild and it should run good. so i took it all apart and the seals and gaskets looked really good. so i got a little more adventurous so i threw it on the car and surprisingly the carb worked amazingly!! i drove the car for about three hours and every so often i would pull over to check the carb to see if there was any leaks. the only slight problem was that one of the gaskets on top. one was slightly leaking. not enough to form a droplet but you could tell it was a little wet. now on to the next part...
