I found a company called Baldwin Filters. Air filter is PA 631. I called them and they said they still make it and it's a current number. I have not bought from them yet. Hastings and Baldwin seem to be the same.

Baldwin PA 631 is for the Eldo and not the standard model.

Wonderful news!  Is he planning on having them done in the same red rubber?

The wix part number for 1961 stock has also dried up. I have been looking around at small old autopart stores hoping someone had one left over. Surprisingly one showed up on rock auto. They must have found one in their warehouse. Because they have been out of stock a long time. I bought it a couple of days ago and now they are out of stock again.

FYI if someone can search by size 1961 is 3 inch tall 12.5 inch outer diameter, and 9.75 inner diameter.

Black was the replacements I thought?  I just picked up a filter from 1960 and its red.  Either way happy to have the replacement filters.

The filters linked above from Rockauto are not correct. I ordered two the other day and they arrived this morning. They are not as tall as the original filter.

Tim is correct. The PA 631 is what they shipped. It is what was listed for a DeVille. I'm going to ship them back to Rockauto unless anyone is interested in them.

I'll buy a couple of the correct filters from Frank at CPR when they are available.

The Authenticity Manual does not state a color in Section 3-J. The examples in the photos are black. But I'm not sure that is the end all be all authority on the air filter.

I do remember that my car at one point had a red/orange filter in it but figured that maybe it was a Fram as it matched their color. I don't know the filters origin but would guess it was from the 1980's looking at the history of the car.
