Hello Tony, I have soaked mine in Evapo Rust to get the center wire moving again. That is, if you already have one and it is seized up.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for responding. Mine is not only seized but has been cut just a few inches from the the firewall. If I can't find one I'll soak it and make or buy if I can find, a brass coupler. I'd like to have the the throttle functional.

I love Evapo Rust. No more electrolysis, etc.

These can be restored by buying a modern choke or throttle cable at the auto parts store.  Remove the old wire and handle from the existing.  Then carefully unclamp the outer coil spring housing from the original base.  Remove the wire from the original handle and then silver solder the new wire to it.  Various methods can be used to attach the new coil spring housing to the original.  If you run into problems feel free to email me and get into more fine detail depending on what you find.   brad@ipsengarage.com

I haven't gotten it out of the car yet. I put your address in my contacts. Once I get the cable out of the car I'll get in touch.
