1970s 1978 Deville Illuminated Entry install. Only one side works

I was wondering if anyone ever added Illuminated entry to their car. I have a 1978 parts car and took the wiring and relay out and put it in my 1978 Deville I'm working on. It was pretty straight forward, Wiring from the relay goes to the door handles, ground, fuse box and left side junction box. It worked great for a month. Now just the passenger side works. I changed the relay, changed the driver side door actuator and installed new wiring to the drivers side and got the same results. Passenger side only works. I hooked up just the drivers side and it worked without the passenger side connected. The other strange thing is when I connect the battery the relay clicks and turns on the interior lights. I don't think that should happen. Am I missing something? The shop manual was no help. If anyone has tried this with success what do you think is wrong? Thanks.
