I'm looking for the correct key for a set of NOS wire wheel covers that I am looking at for my 81 Fleetwood Brougham.  The "lock" has a triangular shape to it.  The date code on the wheel covers is 1979, however I assume these will work on an 81.

Most(all?) hubcap locks were made by McGard of Orchard Park,NY. They used to have a policy that they would replace unusable keys at no charge. Rules do change ,but ....

Good idea.  I'll check with McGard.

Assuming replacements are still available, McGard will want to know the color code which is how the tool is identified. Six years ago I was in the predicament with a set of wire wheel covers installed but no removal tool. Thankfully the McGard order form for a replacement was still in the glovebox which indicated the code as yellow. I can't recall whether I contacted McGard or not but I found one on eBay.

I unfortunately have no idea what the color code is.  At this point, it seems like it's more trouble than it's worth to try to find the correct key/tool.  I guess I'll just keep the vaned wheel covers that came on the car.  Thank you!
