Here is the link to a Special Edition of the 2005 Cadillac DeVille base model:

The piping on the leather interior is the nicest feature, in my opinion. It would look even better if they offered a very light color of leather, such as the Oatmeal leather offered through about 2002. It seems the different grill with the big egg-crate style and elimination of the stand-up hood ornament is an effort to prepare the DeVille loyalists for the re-styled 06 DTS (similar to the new Presidential limousine).

Not too bad.  I still think the interiors leave a lot to be desired but it looks like a nice car.  Now if only I could order one without the air bags ....

Piping helps, the wood grain is nice if real; Id like to see at least two different but contrasting colors highlighting the door panels but shoot, that could be done privately.
I do like the bold frontend.  I wasnt sure about it but so far I do.

I will never be able to afford one and with the computers, etc, there is no way I would want one.  Call me a ludite.

Bruce Reynolds # 18992

Randal, You are a Ludite.   There I said it.

I am afraid that these days, it is impossible to purchase a new car without any sort of computer in it.   Even the clocks are a form of computer.

I am afraid that computers will be with us, until the electronics in the world go up in smoke, and then those that survive, start again with stone age tools, and the cycle continues.

By the way, what is wrong with an airbag?

If i was going to be unfortunately involved in an accident, I would hate to be in my 60 CDV.   I would prefer to be in the latest car, aurbags, seatbelt tensioners, crumple zones, and all.   The more airbags the better.

I have seen what steel dashboads and fancy chrome steering wheels can do to the fragile human body.

Well Bruce, all I can say is that an air bag just about killed me.  Seat belts are quite enough thanks.

Computers are fine...but I prefer cars without them.  I like to drive and take care of them as they are.  Hey thats just me.  20+ years as a computer "expert" was enough for me.  I would rather simplicity and enjoy them for what they were.  :)

-SKE... specialKrapola-edition, Yuck, Gran-ugly, saddly nothing more than a glorified Chevy-taxicab as usual; also saw Cadillacs new so-called sports-car today, --just pitiful, same old same old --"show them grandure in dream-cars, -yet let them eat stale cake..."    ~Bob vH

Come on Robert,

Tell those of us who are still awake, then the Moderator can remove it in the morning if it offends anyone.

-Ha ha, AaaaShucks Fellas, -guess you can feel my pain at seeing our great marquee being misrepresented by shamefully inapt design!  Happened to park nose-to-nose to a sleek new Bentley-coupe today (now made by BMW i believe), and while a walk-around revealed it had a bit of of the "jelly-bean syndrome" in its look, --at least it immediately conveyed a presense that read as high-end impressive (pleased owner said he has three more late model Bentleys, an MB, and a Cad.Esclade at home, and tradesem in when they hit 15k-miles; -was parked between two trucks at HomeDepot!!! ); --not a jazzed-up Chevy!  OK ill stop here...    Sincerely, ~Bob vH

Sounds like that guy has much money to burn...or waste.

He probably losses more money in depreciation on his cars in a year than most of us make in a year or would hope to make.

Ive had the chance to see the Bentley coupe and particularly the Arnage.  Man that is a beautiful car.  The new Jaguar XJ sedan is really beautiful...except for the tv screens in the head rests.  Yuck.  I am hoping the new DeVille will be equal to these in looks and comfort.  From the popularity of the new Cadillacs, I am sure it will do well.  I just wish the DTS were called something like the Concours or D Elegance or Fleetwood, but I suppose those days are over.  Thats OK...we can handle that.  :)
