There is a snake living in my car.

My car is a 1940 Series 72, and it is currently in the headliner.  It got there from under the dash, and up the driver side column next to the windshield.  My questions are:

1) How do I get it out?
2) How do I make sure the car is snake free next time I get into it?

Thanks!

Joe

I guess a shotgun is out of the question?

PS - Always heard mothballs and snakes didnt mix but my question is were you the one that caused it to go up the post to the headliner?

Dennis

Park the car out doors in the morning and leave the doors, trunk and hood open.  Put mothballs in several butter tubs on the floor boards front and rear. Pull out an access point of the headliner. By the end of the day, snake will be outside the car.

I checked the shop manual, nothing.

Ask a veterinarian or the Agricultural Extension Agency. Last resort: exterminator. Many are critter friendly.

Joe, I have a couple of suggestions, but, first a couples of questions.

1. How do you know that there is a "snake" in your car?

2. Do you live in "snake" country? If you do, this may be an on-gon problem.

Get your Dr. or Denist friend to give the "snake" a shot to knock it out, then remove it.

If you can get to it with a CO2 fire-extinguisher and freeze it and then remove it.

The "snake" most likely followered the smell of a mouse into your car, looking for a meal. Put some "D-Con", in your car to keep out the mice.

Snakes and now mice. I had a cat go missing about a year ago. Could you check your headliner for me?
