What is the recommended modern lubricant for 1937 standard transmissions and how often should the lubricant be changed??

Thanks,

Don, I have a38 and I plan to change the trans lube.
I plan to use 80-90W gear lube.
As for changing the lube, I dont intend to change it again, unless I have to tear into the trans.
Your car, like mine, most likely has the lube in it that came in the car. Maybe one owner out of a 100,000 had it changed, topped-off,yes, but not changed.
Good Luck, Jim

Don, what I plan to use is Pennzoil gear lube, SAE 80W-140.
You should be able to get it at most any auto parts store.
Good Luck, Jim
