I am trying to trace the ownership of a 1947 Cadillac Limousine.  I was told that this vehicle, SN 4775331347, was purchased and delivered to the King of Afghanistan (Mohammed Zahir Shah who ruled from 1933 to 1973 when he was driven into exile).  This vehicle was purportedly housed at the King’s palace in Kabul and was used for parades and royal occasions.

Does anyone have experience tracing the history of their Cadillacs back to the original owners? If so, how did you do it?  Are there organizations or websites that would allow me to trace the ownership of this vehicle in order to establish provenance?

If the story is true, the vehicle may have historical significance and value, otherwise, it’s a nicely restored 1947 limo.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Get a build sheet from Cadillac. It might show it as an export car. A good clue. Bob
