Hello,  Was this a gold plate instead of Chrome? Looks like original trunk insignia, never off trunk lid,  great V-8, with black enamel background and red line up the right side of the insignia, but the V and the 8 is gold.  No mention is made on the build sheet.  Help!  Joe

It is supposed to be gold or brass. You can buff it to a nice shine and then clear coat it.
