I recently bought a set of five 40-spoke wire wheels that I intend to put on a 55 Series 62 Coupe. I believe theyre genuine Kelsey-Hayes from a 53 Eldorado. All of the wheels have some rust and probably need replating. Also, three need center caps, all need emblems. So heres the questions, hope someone out there can help me. How do you disassemble the wheels to clean & replate? What kind of tool removes the spokes and where can you get one? Can you get replacement spokes? (Im pretty sure Ill break some.) Any leads on centers and emblems? Anybody out there ever taken on a job like this that can offer advice?????? Thanks, and sorry about the lengthy post!
