Good advice. I installed a mechanical temperature gage in my Cadillac, and wired it to my headlight switch so the dial is lit when the lights are turned on. I always want to know what is going on inside my engine when out on the road. Clay/Lexi

Go down the the seventh post for a fairly short history of the company. Continue down several more posts to contributor "Guest Oracle" for a much longer discussion.  Northway, quite a history.

General Discussion / Re: Carpet dyes
Last post by dn010 - June 26, 2025, 09:34:46 AM
Meanwhile, I've used Detail King liquid carpet dye on all my vehicles that have required it. They make a spray dye too but I like the liquid method. I prefer to take the carpet out, power wash them down to get rid of all the dirt and debris in them and then apply the dye once they're dry. I have had no issues and have been using their product for about 10 years now I believe.         To each their own.

My bad! I had the maps blown up too far that they eliminated the western parking area. I was looking for detail, not a aerial style view. Mainly because I wanted to see what type of eating establishments were within a short walk of the hotel.

That is a huge lot with what appears to be a 200+ space accommodation. I hope it can be filled with Cadillacs.  :)

I suspect that you ignored my post from last September. The accumulation of rust and gunk IN THE COOLING passages and engine's water jackets is a slow moving time bomb for your rebuilt engine. Over 5 decades, This material clogs radiator passages and well as the head gasket and causes the engine to overheat in critical areas.

Use a laser thermometer (if it's a good one... most of the cheap ones are less than worthless junk).   Install a temp gauge in your engine compartment.  NEVER trust the idiot lights...(cautionary tale) on a hot sunny day on route 95 in Florida following a complete engine and cooling system rebuild, I couldn't see the idiot light "glowing"--- radiator blew out and engine head gasket failed. While taking out the blown radiator,we discovered a bunch of gunk blocking the NEW radiator passages-- coolant  couldn't pass through the radiator--- so consider a serious back flush and an installation of a cooling system filter. All good insurance for an old engine that could have a pile of accumulated muck in the engine's water jacket.

Quote from: Big Fins on June 25, 2025, 01:31:11 PMLooking at the grounds via Google Earth and Maps, this place has half the parking as Tennessee did. Maybe less rooms? I don't know. We'll have to see what the fees are come January. I may end up driving, instead of hauling it on a trailer.

Also, some travel time to get to any decent restaurants. Most are right at the Interstate exchange.

I live over on the Raleigh/East side of NC but have stayed at this Embassy Suites several times and remember it seeming as big or bigger than Murfreesboro and a lot of shops, restaurants and other hotels nearby. I also remember Concord Mills Mall having a lot of shopping and very close.

I did a bit of digging courtesy of my cousin Google and uncle ChatGPT:

Murfreesboro Embassy Suites has 283 2-Room Suites.
Charlotte-Concord as 308 2-room Suites.

Maps.Google shows Concord Mills Mall 1.5 miles form the hotel. There are over 200 shops at the mall, with 18 anchors, again according to Google. In the vicinity you will find a lot of other shops, etc.

As far as the hotel parking I don't have the specs, but have been told we have plenty of parking.  I remember when I stay there you generally park in the main lot toward the front and facing the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Looking at the Google Maps there is a very large parking lot to the rear.  I would guess that would be the show field area, but again details will be forth coming.

Here are 3 quick screen captures courtesy Google Maps:
