My 1940 Lasalle heater has the Cadillac script on the heater and I assume that because they were shutting down production and substituted with what they had. That was just my guess. Anyone know if they normally were labeled Lasalle ? If so any clue where I might get the proper script?

You have the correct lettering. None of the heaters said Lasalle on them. All of the heaters supplied by Cadillac for Cadillac and Lasalle cars said "CADILLAC" on them. I am certain this is true for 1939 and 1940. It is probably the case for other years as well.

This is my observation as well. My LaSalle heater also says "Cadillac".
