1966 Cadillac 429 exhaust manifolds wanted

Hello,

I need to replace both exhaust manifolds on my 1966 Cadillac SDV with the 429 engine.  They seem rather hard to find, at least in my search so far.  I'd like to work on this project over the winter.  Please contact me if you have any for sale or know where I might find a pair.

Hi. There's some on eBay, But WOAH  ......I would've never figured that they would be ASKING that much for them. Maybe someone here has some. Good Luck.

May want to run through the period interchange and see if any others fit, if scarce/costly.
Barring cracks, missing, etc, if just in poor shape, consider having them ceramic coated.   
I'm sure the "usual suspects" should have a set.

Since Cadillac didn't share with other divisions until about 1967, these exhaust manifolds are 65-67 429 only. They usually crack when the heat riser rusts shut and heat backs up. If it doesn't crack the manifold it usually backs up to the heat baffle tube in the intake manifold and crack the underside of intake manifold at the point where the tube is the lowest. The left / driver's side. I might have a few left and will message you. thanks, Jeff

Hello Michael,

If you determine that buying replacement manifolds is too expensive, you may want to consider having the crack repaired.

Generally, it is difficult to use typical welding processes to repair iron manifolds.  However, some old-timer welding shops know how to do this kind of repair using brazing techniques.  I would think that being in Michigan, you can probably find such a shop.

Here is a link to a product shown being used to repair an exhaust manifold from a Cadillac 429.  I have never used the product, but the concept is similar to brazing.
