Dual zone Master Cylindar for a 61

Well for discussion I would like to talk about brake booster and master cylinder combos.

I dont want to do the body work on my car until I have working brakes on a running car.

On the left is a 1961 single zone set up.

On the right is a crazy chrome set up that my disc brake kit guy gave me as an apology for issues that I had with his kit. I am not going to use it and it is already rusting.

What I would like is to use my 61 booster with the 62 master. I bought the 62 version with the same bolt pattern as 61. The more rare harder to get parts for version unfortunatly.

I want the 61 booster to keep the vacuum system the same. And of course I want the 62 with the dual zone. What are your thoughts on pairing those up?

I will need to send these out for rebuild. I will also talk to whoever I decide to work with to get their thoughts to.

My '61 has the original booster with a dual M/C attached. I had the conversion done when I first got the car. As I had it done, I don't know the specific type of M/C that was used. The only markings on it are "A R1 5H1" on the outboard side. I've been happy with it.

  You appear to have a Moraine cylinder from your car (GM casting # on cylinder). And have bought a 62-63 Bendix system to mate with it.  In 62, Moraine used 2 bolt mounts to booster,Bendix 4 Bolt.
  Davids conversion is interesting. Only the lower 2 mounting bolts are used for the master. The master looks to be the modern replacement for both types (bendix,moraine) that fits at least 62-64. If its that easy ,all  61s should be updated.

I don't believe my booster was replaced as part of the conversion, although it might have been replaced prior to my acquisition. By happenstance, the shop that did the conversion will be a vendor at a show I'm attending this weekend, and I can probably ask the proprietor if he remembers what he did, although I'm bringing my '60, so he won't be able to look at it.

Could you ask him what it would take to convert the '60 to the same setup? I'd like to move to a dual setup for safety reasons on my '60.
