I feel like this has been covered here before, but after much searching I have not been able to find it, so forgive me for asking (again).  I was installing the transmission dipstick tube on my 1961 series 62, and there appears to be no gasket or O-ring of any type to seal it where it enters the transmission.  Maybe it's in the case and not on the tube.  I've looked at my original tube and one from a donor car and they look the same.  Can anyone confirm if I'm missing a seal or good to go?
Thanks, Del

I believe the O ring is inside the transmission.

But contact Classic Hydromatic. He is a very friendly guy who may be able to tell you for sure.

As Carl vrote, the seal is into the case. However, with the time, the rubber is getting hard and don't seal very well. Not easy to take out when the transmission is not in the car; I can imagine that the job is almost impossible when the transmission is installed. On one of my cars, I had this issue. I put an O-ring under the tube's flange and put enough pressure on the tube while attaching it at the cylinder head; the result was a tight the spot.
