Are there any numbers on the crank? I.E. Part Casting?

t walgamuth

I will check.  But I believe it is a forged steel crank from a '51.

I looked at the one that is easiest to get to and couldn't find any numbers.  There is a thin layer of oily dust on it so if you will kindly direct me where to look for the number you seek I will be happy to go and look again.

Before shipping it I will take it to my favorite machinist and get him to mike it and verify it will turn up nicely.  I have a second crank too so if this one is not good I will take the other one in.

He can turn them as well and does a first class job.  If you were interested in that I can find out what he would charge.

Thank you for your interest.

I found a marking.  Y22.

Is that the marking you seek?
