One of my favorite topics.  Rest assured you will receive a good amount of recommendations.  I only shipped once and used FedEx and was 100% satisfied.

Allow me to offer you some quick tips.  Most auto shippers are nothing more then "brokers", they take your order and your money, put your car(s) on a manifest, and its up to independent truckers when you car will be picked and delivered.  Keep in mind many times a trucker will take your car so far, drop it off and you will have to wait for another trucker to pick it up.  I would strongly recommend using a shipper that has their own fleet and most importantly use a shipper that you can pay COD.

When I had mine shipped I went to a website and asked for quotes. After recieving about ten I went to www.transportreviews.com and reviewed all the companies that responded. Turned out the second cheapest had some of the best reviews. Some of the other comanies had horrible reviews. I won't shill for the company I used but they were fantastic. Before shipping definately check out the company you decide on.

Great advice Art.  When I was looking for a shipper, as usual I did things bassackwards.  I contracted a shipper, then checked out their review on that site.  As it turned out, Yes I picked the worse shipper to do business with!  How bad you ask?  Well they were bad enough that the local TV station did an "60 minutes" investigative piece on them, and all the business did was hide behind their desks, only answering ala Sgt. Schultz "I know nothing".  They were also so bad that one dissatisfied customer started a website against them, with tips on how to get your money back, which I followed and was lucky enough to get my money back.  I was lured by their good looking website and low price!  Cheapest isn't always the best, most times you only get what you pay for.  For my money it would pay to pay a few bucks more and be able to sleep at night.

You all might want to be careful of the site transportreviews.com they will only let the trucking companys who pay them have good things posted about them, if the trucking company does not pay then no good news...NOT a reliable web site.....BECAREFUL :-[
