I need recommendations of where to get my 1941 steering wheel restored. Who has had one restored lately? What is the correct color?

I have had 2 wheels restored by J B Donaldson here in Phoenix. Quality work.

Steve,

I had mine restored by "Steering Wheel BOB" from New Jersey. He is quite knowledgeable and worth talking to even if you go a different route.

It was beyond repair and he welded a new rim on it and also painted my radio push buttons (They are plastic in the 1942 6719) , Hand brake handle, heater knobs, shift and turn signal knobs.

He charges about $600 if it is repairable but mine cost about a thousand. I have pictures in my restoration Blog of everything I have prepared for completion of my restoration and a write up about the steering wheel and other items. He also provided touch up paint in case of future damage or replacement of various small parts. You can find him on Google and his name is Bob Monetti I think.  I am very happy with his work and I find that I remember the quality of a job much longer than I remember the cost.
