High impedance speakers are available. I put some in my 76 Seville. Any used speakers will be falling apart by now

You have to get high impedance speakers. Something like 8 ohm. Modern speakers are low impedance..I think 4 ohm. If you run low impedance speakers on your old radio, it will fry the amplifier in the radio. The amplifier needs the impedance or resistance, else will burn itself up.
You can use high impedance speakers with a modern radio though, just wont be as loud as with 4 ohm speakers
