1967 - 429 - correct color of distributor shaft?

Hi,
I'm freshening up the engine bay of my 67 Deville at the moment.
Does anybody know what color the distributor shaft on the 67 - 429 engine should have? Was it painted engine blue as well or was it just cast iron? I seem to have found traces of blue on it on my other two 429 engines, but I'm not 100% sure... I have removed it and cleaned it but now I do not know how to paint it before I put it back...

Guten Abend Gerald,

When I rebuilt my '67 Sedan DeVille's distributor, it appeared to have been painted the same as the engine color.  The vacuum advance canister was also painted the engine color.  Do you still have the aluminum band with the Delco part number, that goes around the distributor?

i will paint it blue then as well. On my low mileage 74 and 78 the shaft is clearly painted blue as well and I found traces of blue on my 3 429 engines distributors as well.
Yes - the aluminum band is still there, I took it off for painting and will reinstall it afterwards.
