eldorado wheel valve stems

I am having a couple tires mounted on my '74 eldo.  I wanted to bring a copy of the wheel W valve stems to have the installer tighten the lock nuts on the sealing washers.  Now where can I find that picture in any of my shop manuals??  where is it in the manuals, or can some one send me a copy for tomorrow.

You just want a picture of what they look like? 

I would tell them not to touch them at all if you don't have replacements.  IF they are old tightening the nuts may crack the old rubber and they will leak.   

A few years ago I looked at several common brands of metal stems to see if the rubber was the same on any of them as the Eldo thinking I could just buy the new cheap stems, take the rubber off and throw the rest away cheaper and quicker than getting the correct ones.   I didn't find anything close enough to work.

  Last I knew NAPA carried new ones.  They need to get them from the warehouse, they are not on the shelf.   And if they try to look them up in the computer as an Eldorado part they won’t find them.  They have to look them up by number.

Hmm, what about the grommet/washer ?

The guy that did mine was able to do a makeshift for me.  It took him a couple of tries, but he took it as a challenge.

So now it only leaks slowly, instead of having to reinflate after 20 minutes to roll back in . . .

The valve shown above comes with a new rubber washer.  I have considered using an RTV type sealant on the old washer, but since I can buy new ones I will do that instead.

It seems a pity to replace the whole thing over the washer, though . . .,

The do sometimes get corroded internally and no longer pass air but the most common issue is the washer.

A few years ago I looked at other stems and none of them had similar washers.   I never did look for a washer catalog so maybe they exist.
