Have you tried John Gately??

No I haven't. Not familiar with him. Does he have parts cars? Is he in the directory? I did reach out to some places including those who advertise in the Self Starter as possibly having parts, but two weeks later I have yet to hear from anyone yea nor nay.

Just this weekend though, another member here has reached out to me and thinks he may have what I'm looking for. He has to dig out of the snow first so he can check, but I'm crossing my fingers.

Thanks Wes, if these other things fall through I certainly will. Didn't know Mike? had a parts car around. Good guy, I bought his last set of U.S. made 39 U-joints some months back and have been very pleased with them. Could be a bit sticky though as the size of kingpins changes sometime in 1940. I'd rather not have two different sizes of kingpins on the car, but ultimately may have to go that route.

Thanks for the lead Bob. I notice though that in another thread Tripwire says he spoke to Mr. Gately recently and that he has no LaSalles on hand.  :(

Still have a couple of other leads I'm following though.

In this thread http://forums.cadillaclasalleclub.org/index.php?topic=154197.0 I'll be posting up some new information I discovered while dissecting mine yesterday. Ultimately, it looks like I may well need to get new steering knuckles and steering knuckle supports for both sides... >:(
