Hi there,
I have acquired recently a 1950 Cadillac Club Coupe in quite poor shape. Paint is bad, trim is bad, too. I removed the long fender chrom moldings left and right, but wonder how the door molding in the middle of the door can be removed. Do I need to remove the door panels from the inside and remove some screws? I already tried from the outside by pushing a lever underneath but no chance. When I push, the door panels are giving in, but the molding does not move at all. Appreciate any advice! Thanks a lot, Hans

Hans, during that time, moldings at the doors were attached with clips and nuts from inside the door. Therefore, you have to remove the trim panels. You will have to do that anyway to check the condition of the sheetmetal inside the doors.
If you don't have yet a shop manual, it's time to look for one!

Hi Roger, appreciate your help. Thanks a lot. I always buy a shop manual with the car, but this topic is not covered in the normal shop manual. Would need the body manual, I guess.
Wanted to avoid touching the door panels as inside the car looks like new.  ;D
Have a good day.
BTW where are you located?

In the 1954, 1956, 1957 and 1959 shop manuals, there is a body section. Is there not a body section in the 1950 shop manual?
I'm located at 7 km from Bienne (or in German Biel), a small town which is at 30 km from Berne.

Oh then I check in my 1956 manual, thanks! I had checked my 50 manual but did not find anything.

Today I tried to restart it after quite some time but the glas bowl of the fuel pump just received bubbles over bubbles and the car stalled every time after priming. I have the feeling the fresh gasoline that I had added contains even more ethanol (super) than the stuff I used before.

Guess I have to add a 6V electrical pump. In Germany there are quite costly Hardi pumps available for 6V but at 144 Eur that is really a lot. Any experience with those pumps? I know they need to be installed as close to the tank as possible as they better push than pull.

Bienne/Bern are not around the corner, so to say. I am in the Cologne area since a few years.

Thanks, Roger.
Best, Hans

If it's the same as my 1950 Convertible, you need to remove the interior arm rests/door pulls to get the door panel off. There are 2 screws inside the "cup" of the door pull, which may be covered by the upholstery material.

Thanks, FabCad! Good to know.

48 Sedanette sounds nice!
There is a 48 Club Coupe on sale since a few weeks in Scottdale. Really really nice that series 62 fastback design. Was yours hard to find?

Strange...I did an answer some days ago; maybe I forgot to post it!
You're right, Bern-Köln is not a small trip to the next door!
It seems that you got a more precise answer; I was almost sure that you will have to remove the door's trim; pus-in clips were not commonly used at that time. A good opportunity to see the inner door shape!

Saw that 48 coming up for auction. It was on eBay a few weeks ago and didn't sell. They are fairly hard to come by---especially in good, solid original condition. You just gotta keep an eye out!

Good luck with your 50 coupe.
