Need 2 low beam T3 bulbs for 59
Need one mint 70 Deville wheel cover

They stopped making T3 for the 1959s. Lectric Ltd used to make them. They still make the T3 in a set for 1960-1967 so you may have to settle for those.

I have looked for them for my 1959 Oldsmobile. I bought some for my 1959 Cadillac 5 years ago wish I had bought some extra sets then.

The 59 and 60 use different style T-3 lights?  I did not know that.  What's the difference?

On a 1959 the word guide is above the T3 triangle. On a 1960 the word guide is on the lower middle of the bulb.

I used the 1960 version on my 1959 Oldsmobile and needed all 4 bulbs.

I have two bulbs left of the 1959 version since my 1959 Cadillac still had 2 original bulbs in the car. You should change all 4 since the old ones are not very bright.

Somewhere on the internet I believe there is a chart showing each T-3 bulb version over the years and what the (sometimes) minor differences were.  Seems I remember it being posted here a long time ago.

When the last one is used up then what to do?
These have got to be getting scarcer and pricier with each one consumed.

I suggest: use something more available, if driving.  I put NOS halogens in the '58 - lower amps too.
These old filament based bulbs tended to burn out the first time they were used on a cold day.   A period sign of winter - one headlight coming at you.   I'd just use them for shows, etc. if you want to keep them working for a while.

Minutia and non-sense.   These are "periodic replacement" parts, like mufflers, spark plugs, etc. and should not be penalized for substitution after the design life.  Car collectors/judges are a bit too insanely "original" obsessive and some, now most, never even seen one as built.   Filament headlights of the day were on the order of hundreds of hours of bulb life.   I'd expect a car to match it's age and mileage, not it's fictitious birth.   Does original really matter if it's 60 years old and got miles, even if "restored"?  It'd be more "authentic" if it's had them replaced.   The "all original" holy grail is eventually going to go away anyhow, better to deal with it, than perpetuate mythology and price it out of existence.

Here's another Chart though not quite as detailed.

I completely agree too!  Things are getting out of hand but those with the really really big bucks don’t. My point is that there are OEM replacement parts even in later year GM Parts catalogs that differ from that which was used in its build year should be allowed without points deduction

Repro T3’s should be allowed with no deduction.
If you buy the repros it shows you went the extra step and didn’t just go to Pep Boys for any one light.
Headlights are a consumable item like tires and batteries. It’s impossible to keep everything original like that.

"Putting myself in the other guy's shoes" is how I look at things like this.

Personally, I wouldn't pay up for things like OEM headlights, repro batteries and the like. But I'm damned if I'll begrudge the one who goes through the time, effort and expense of procuring these items from deserving more points than those like me who did not. If I were that person, I wouldn't be too pleased and neither would anybody else.

It not only right but fitting that their efforts be recognized for going the extra mile. That's the way I feel about it.

Thank you, your welcome.  The link is tiny for some reason.

I personally like the T3 repros. They look identical to the originals since I removed some from my 1959 Cadillac and my 1966 Cadillac.

The new ones are much brighter than any old NOS ones.

I would use the 1960 T3s on my 1959 since the difference is so minor. You can get 4 for $120 until recently, the price seems to bounce between $120 and $135. They must not have sold enough of the 1958-1959 version to warrant making them.

100 percent agree , if you’re willing to put in the effort than you deserve the points ! If it was easy everybody would  do it , that’s why most don’t .
