Someone else had asked about how to rebuild a heater valve and whether the seal was available anywhere, and if there was a video on how to do it.
I too would like to know if the seal is available for a 54/55/56 heater valve control.

I managed to rebuild mine using the seal out of a new valve for a '55/56/57 Chevy that I had in stock, but that's probably not what I would recommend anyone else do for the seal. Like I said,  I had the Chevy valve already.

The first two pictures are of the valve I rebuilt.  The second one is just a close up of the label on it.
Take note of the mounting plate though. I got the clock position correct, but I got the plate on backwards. The raised center is supposed to be towards the mechanism,  not the tubing.
It will still work just fine, but the tubing part will extend into the engine compartment about 3/8" more than it should.

The third pic is of some of the  extra parts and pieces I have. Also note the capillary tube assembly. One of the tubes was apparently broken or cut off.  However what's left still works. The cut tube must have been sealed shut when it was cut.
There's a very small round plastic piece that fits into the end of the capillary tubes where it mounts to the valve assembly. (It's in the small plastic bag in the picture). This piece is what pushes on the mechanism to open or close the valve. If you lose that, then the valve is useless.
It's also important to make sure that it isn't frozen in place in the capillary tube end. It slides in and out as the fluid in the tube heats and cools.
Notice the rusty valve on the left. Look close and you can see that one of the tabs is missing on it.

Hmm I forward you a file with the process to rebuilt the thermostatic valve which details the pieces, the seal part number and also a link to another site (Packard member) which details the same process as you had requested via a PM. Not sure if you had received it from me, maybe check your spam folder.

The details is just to replace the rubber seal for the valve assuming the rest is salvageable and working specially the capillary tubes.

I appreciate that.  One question though,  how do you check/find the  spam folder?
I didn't know I had one honesty. Only been using this new phone for maybe a month and a half or so.

It all depends on which email app your are using    you may need to go to the options and find the folders that maybe listed under the app e.g. "send", "trash", "spam" etc.
