The A arm to wheel would be insulated by the rubber mounts. And I think this is to ground the radio static collectors in the wheel hub.

I read somewhere that it wasn't long after 1960 that GM found it wasn't necessary to continue fitting these ground straps to the Suspension arms.

Now i just have to remember when it was.

Well that is the closest I could get at the first hardware store I went to. Center hole to big. I will keep looking.

In most cases Amazon prime is much closer and has much wider choice than any hardware store

Well I ordered a box of 25 but nearly 2 weeks for delivery.

I have all the body mounts in, just not torqued yet.

But this is something no one needs, but I had never seen it before and wanted it. A dealer service rate book.

I need to find a binder for it. If anyone knows what one may have looked like let me know.

Fun that carb adjustment is estimated at just under 1.5 hours.

Carl, looking at the photos of your engine bay "brings me back." Engineering and related technologies were so simple when compared with today's  automotive technological grand complexities. Doing a 15,000 mile tune up back in the day was an entirely repetitive process, and for many decades, involved little challenge.  Even I could manage a tune up with a spark plug wrench, a feeler gauge, a vacuum gauge, a dwell-tact and a couple of screw drivers.

My new hydraulic shocks from Shocks2Springs arrive today.

I should have time to put them in tonight.

Well here are my new shocks.

The left is an original replacement Pleasurizer.

Then my new hydraulic shocks.

And the set of Gabrial classics gas charged I bought 8years ago.

The brand name markings from the gabrial classics are exactly the same except for the part numver stamping. I suspect they buy new shocks and switch out the fluid to mae hydraulic.

Well I got those washers in half the time they said. I plated a few.

I got one of the rear shocks installed. But giving myself a headache laying on my back under the car. It would be nice to have a lift. I just do not have the room for one.

I have a torque spec for the front lower shocks to the control arms. But how tight should I make the nuts at the rubber mount end.

I know they can spin if to tight. How do I handle those.

I think I have identified the bolts for the fuel lines. They look like they were corroded enough to come from under the car.

I will look for new replacements for these. I had tried several that were close but nothing fit the holes like these.

Sometimes you have to have some feeling. Not tight enough you may have noise and too tight you are making the rubber kaputt. So, something in between is perfect!

I picked up a few new bolts today.

I have 5 clamps. I think it might need 6. Not sure.

I still do not know how the fuel line transitions to rubber and routes under the hood.

Looking at my parts car it looks like they run along the oil pan and come up inside of the moto mounts. But my parts car has hacked up plumbingvso I do not know if tgat is original.
